If one takes bill clintons comment that if you think the results of the 60s are largely positive you are probably a democrat and largely negative you are probably a republican the book is written from a republican point of view but it is consistently critical of the republicans for basically sitting silently as their freedoms were eroded and their society changed probably irrevocably
