bought this on audible, but thought i would leave my 2 cents and tell you what this diet is.the adrenals manage your hormones and sit on top of your kidney's. they help regulate a lot of stuff in your body so when you have adrenal fatigue you'll get symptoms of other diseases such as asthma, low libido, low energy (chronic fatigue), etc. The Dr's cure is pretty simple, cut back on carbs. not eliminate carbs, but to cut back on them. so for breakfast you eat 20g of proteins, some fat and very little carbs. for lunch you do the same but start adding in the carbs. For dinner you eat a lot of carbs with some protein and a little fat.The science behind this which he doesn't explain very well goes like this.You eat carbs (sugar), you'll get an insulin response. the insulin response throws off your hormones (crashes cortisol) and your body has to adjust for it the rest of the day. but if you eat all your carbs at night, you'll get a massive insulin spike at night and when the cortisol crash happens you can go to sleep. rinse and repeat until your adrenals reset themselves.I started this diet two weeks ago on (sept.16 2017). So far my heart palpatations went away, my dizziness from standing up went away, my blood pressure dropped from 155/110 to 132/70, my anxiety dropped Massively, my muscles aren't cramping anymore and although i don't have my full energy yet, i'm light years ahead of where i was a 2 weeks ago. He says in the book it takes 4 weeks for the adrenals to reset themselves and 8 weeks if you're level 4 (fully crashed). I'll have to say that he's right, from youtube videos' on the subject it takes roughly 1 month for every year you've had this condition. so if you've had fatigue for 8 years then it'll take 8 months, but this diet spits in the face of this statistic.I'll tell you guys what i use and how i altered this diet.1. Adrenals Crave salt so I take in massive amounts of pink himalayan salt that i make into SOLE and add to all my water. (youtube how to make sole)2. I take 5g of ascorbic acid vitamin C with 2-3 Limes/lemons to get real vitamin C daily3. For Breakfast i Drink a bullet proof coffee minus the coffee. so 2Tbs of coconut oil, 2Tbs of real Butter with 4 Tbs of heavy whipping cream. I add 2 scoops (20g) of hydrolized beef collagen and a packet of stevia.4. for lunch i'll eat a chunk of meat (4-10oz) with a fat (avacado, butter, etc)5. For Dinner i eat brown rice, yams, full fat mexican Cheese and beans6. I don't snack and i don't eat vegetables as i take supplements to get my minerals and vitamins.7. i don't exercise not even walks8. When i eat i don't drink anything until at least 1 hour to 2 hours after eating to make sure i digest the food.9. the supplements i use areashwaganda for cortisol managementHoly BasilVitamin d3+k2B-complex with p5p and methalated b12MSM powder (sulpher)Chromium and VanadiumBeef Collagen (no protein powders as they spike insulin)MultivitaminGABA (amino acid for calmness)Seriphos (knocks you out at night and destroys Cortisol)I can't stress the idea of making SOLE to help your adrenals, Sole is a lifesaver. Its basically making a Salt brine out of pink hymalayan salt. you then add the brine to your drinking water all day long. So you're essentially taking in salt all throughout the day for your adrenals. there's plenty of videos on how to make it on youtube, but the quick rundown is get any container (8-16oz). fill the container 1/3 of the way with pink hymalayan salt or celtic sea salt. Fill the rest of the container with purified water. Wait 24 hours and you'll have a brine. buy a plastic 1/2 Tablespoon and use it to scoop 1-2 tablespoons of the SOLE into 32oz of water.so i drink about 4-6 tablespoons of salt water plus the salt i add to my food. it helps look up salt your way to health if you don't believe me.Good luck on your adrenal recovery!!
