Pros

These are 8awg lugs with8awg stranded copper wire that go into a standard connector. This is slightly over-crimped, but felt very solid and survived the strongest pull test i could manage. It's a well-made tool, but it doesn't have specific sizes for ...  Read More

The dies line up nicely and are accurately stamped in the easy to understand awg designation. Has an incredibly wide range of true awg and awg+ dies to match with any conceivable cable and lug combination.

Heavy duty tool not a cheap imitation. Well worth the extra dollars over lesser knockoffs. Temco also sells a high quality, reasonably priced lug sets.

Cons

The machined tolerances of the dies are substandard. I figure i should empty he old oil and refill it to see if that works.

After having read all the paper work sent the operating instructions in step2 do not clearly state how to identify the ‘upper’ and ‘lower’ crimping dies assuming there is any significant difference

More importantly step5 does not explain how to know when ‘maximum pressure’ is reached while pumping the handle

Operating instructions step5 information needs to be revised for a user to properly operate this tool

I hope someone at temco is paying attention

For some reason with 6 gauge not so much

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I ended up with batwings on the crimps even when i used the 6 size

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

One the 20 i had to be a little careful on the very last squeeze not to slightly over crimp

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I read the other reviews about it leaving the “wings” but also read the solution which is to partially crimp then rotate
