It makes all the difference in the world when you're barbecuing to know the exact temperature of your pit. The drill hole is 13/16ths for the thermometer. If your doing some q you gotta know the real temp.

Cons

The temperature gauge is very inaccurate. I am not even sure it goes above 250. Cannot use professionally.
