Pros

Using it to illuminate a 24 x 30 painting. They illuminate the paintings perfectly. It's like having our artwork lit by a gallery. They're halogen lights which is what pretty every art gallery uses.

Super simple fixture, super simple installation. Add a slim cable quick disconnect near the light. A 50 watt bulb was included. Works perfect with dimmer.

Works really well, but was quite a chore putting it together. Replacement for an older model. Update to comment.

Cons

Low volt dimmer is not cheap and is another issue you don't want to deal with. The transformer powering the light will not work for mr16 led's as it causes light flickering. Super flimsy and inexpensive looking.

Assembly instructions were excellent and therefore easy to install

Clean bright and very effective for picture lighting

However the light stopped working 8 months after purchase

Currently it only comes with a simple rotary onoff switch that you screw into the power cable where ever you would like it

Best we could expect without paying double

I saw an ac plug extension with a switch on it at a hardware store but did not want to spend the money

Wish they had charged a few dollars more and send it more in tact

I contacted the seller and they promptly sent me a new light without having to jump through hoops

Amazon warehouse deal was in perfect condition with no parts missing

Looked through the box carefully and it was missing

This came with a box to hardwire into the current electrical system

Without the silver bulb cap it looks much better

Competitiveness

Also we changed out the light bulb to a warm white led from lowes because i was afraid the halogen would get too hot and it works great

After buying and returning 3 different picture lights i found this option which was the least expensive and best option
