I use it when i mess around in garageband and it does a very good job for not being an expensive peice of equipment
I have a dell xps15 and even though it is a very efficient computer it has that problem
The us100 works fine for my needs rough and ready audio tracking with 32bit cubase 5 on 64bit windows 7

The only problem i have found is that it does not work with any drivers besides generic usbaudio drivers found on your pc

Based on the amazon reviews the tascam us100 did not have these compatibility issues which i found to be accurate

Easy setup and use records to computer via usb port using various inputs guitar microphone rca even earphone output and can use software audacity to export project files as an mp3
