With the money i saved the tripod is solid enough to warrant purchasing a ball head to mount on top
Overall i am very pleased with it and gave five stars as a basic not super advanced expensive unit

I am an enthusiast not a pro so do not need a manfrotto or one of the very expensive units
For this price range the build quaility and smoothnes of the head is great

Solid value if it breaks you can always return it at walmart or target for refundexchange if you keep the receipt

Warning some people buy this and return it to the store without the included quick release plate or allen wrench and it is restocked

One would just have to unscrew some parts like unscrewing the head off the middle stickpart

Maybe i just have to figure out a way to tighten the part where it screws into the middle stickpart separate from the actual head to allow it to continuously pan fluidly
