I use rechargeables so it was difficult to remove the batteries for charging the base needs to be aligned with the top part that attaches to the surface where the light is to be mounted and then rotated to lock into place

Either the rotation has to be deeper or a different mechanism needs to be employedcant comment on battery life or longevity as i havent used it for long enough
