Pros

Jonathan star's translation of t. Lau is poetic and beautiful. Star gives a literal translation of every word in each verse.

Lao tzu is a prophet, and my personal favorite besides jesus. This edition of the tao te ching is accessible and full of life. The verbatim text comes with the complete chinese text, definition and pronunciation of each word.

Seeing it from this angle made it clearer for me. This translation is easily interpreted and reasonably priced.

The book is very compact; much less bulky than the 2001 version. In a stressful daily life it’s easy to lose yourself. A true blessing to read.

Cons
