Tanget ampster bt ii is around £170. Good price. Great piece of kit for a 2. System. Highly recommended.
I have no idea why google discontinued the chromecast audio. This also proves that you don't have to spend thousands for decent quality audio. A real bonus is that i can stream my itunes collection from my pc, as most are ripped in wav format.
Cons
The unit is 6 months beyond warrantee. The remote control is rather flimsy. It has a very cumbersome way of changing the treble and bass.

The sound quality is excellent id rate it as slightly better than my am10 and the amp is very well made
A real bonus is that i can stream my itunes collection from my pc as most are ripped in wav format the quality is also very good
Which brings me to the next problem the remote seems to be very slow to do anything i have mine behind the tv with the remote ir sensor
Fiio has better sound quality with it’s built in dac and it supports aptx hd

But at this price you cant complain

It seemed such a waste to not continue to enjoy these and i wanted to now set these up in my study hence i was looking for a budget amplifier to connect the two that would at least sound ok

Conspricey can take bare speaker cable but has to be thin also can take banana plugs but the fit is not very good so could come out if cable is caught by a pet or child

These were just unused components that worked together for sound in the kitchen but putting a signal through that many stages is never wise so i wanted a small onebox solution

Granted it can still sound a little congested like its running out of steam at very high levels but for this design of amp at this price that really is quibbling

There does however appear to be a finer control over volume steps using the remote control though still nowhere near as fine as an analogue or more expensive digital control would be

To be honest given a choice between this digital volume control which is at least silent in operation and the possible alternative at this pricepoint of a cheap analogue knob which crackles after a few months use ill take this one

The default settings probably work better with smaller speakers as the base can be overpowering at times especially with movies
