I spent a lot of time looking to getting a fast midrange zoom for my canon 6d but as a student was unable to afford the ludicrous price of the canon 2470 f2

Even wide open this lens has a great centre sharpness it does however tend to fall off in the corner

When stopped down you start to get edge to edge sharpness

The other issue is that the focusing motor can be loud at times which is not ideal for very quiet situations

Another thing i am very happy with is that the lens comes with a 6 year canadian warranty something the big guys dont come even close to offering

While tamron does have a newer version of this lens in a more traditional 2470 range with image stabilization this is still a great and much cheaper option and in my opinion image stabilization is not really necessary at this focal length

At 28mm its very noticeable no matter what f stop i picked
