Pros & Cons
Pros
Gm, but at $899 there is nothing close that matches this tamron 17-28 f/2.
The fov is amazing when it comes to real estate and landscape photography. More money, but much better suited for my photography and videography needs. Thats my opinion as profesional photographer and videographer.
Focus is incredibly fast, and at f/8 and beyond you're gonna get a sharp image across the frame. Great reaction with focus in drift/stunt photography. My only complaint is when you put the camara in portrait position the auto focus hunt a lot on subje... Read More
The sharpness is on point. It's perfectly capable of doing what's on the tin. I love the feel of the lens, even love the lettering on the lens!
Cons
The zoom is barely there & produces grainy images. There isnt even enough image data in the corners to correct for it. Autofocus is great and fast but this is designed with the zoom ring closest to the front of the lense and it is very, very stiff... Read More

Competitiveness
I have paired this lens with my sony a7riii and it is wonderful for the price
Auto focusit performs great on my a7iii almost like any lens made directly by sony
Probably not as robust as the sony competition but i have no definitive evidence that this is the case
I used to have a tokina 1116 that i loved but ever since going full frame ive needed a new wide angle lens

Also there’s no stabilization on this lens so the video footage is very shaky even on a gimbal

It has a basic design there are no buttons or switches on this lens just a focus ring
