The grues are a little different here than in infocom lore but the dystopia of the dying earth series is one that all scifi readers should visit

Yes tolkien is on the list but the two collections are coming from different poles of the genre

It does not have the sprawling arc of conflict found in high fantasy but it is a explosion of color and language so brilliant some segments resemble poetry
