It takes around 45 minutes to play and the sectional nature of the board pieces means that no two games will play out in the same way

You need quite a large flat surface to play on it would not work as well as a travel game

There are different numbers of the different tiles fewer pink and my daughter lost one game waiting to build a pink pattern when all the pink cards were gone

The instructions are not so clear on how to start off the game but on you tube you can find several tutorials on how to play takenoko

The minor issues are some of the tasks you gain are just as easy as other tasks but provide significantly less points this is not a good method of scoring

It doesnt make any sense doing it by colour unless youre moderating the number of available land plots of those colours

The artwork is colourful and slightly cartoony in places but the hexagonal board pieces are almost like watercolour paintings
