Pros

The tablo is a great way to get over-the-air tv. It works great for tvs that are not near a coax outlet. You need a good reliable antenna to work properly. Directv called and tried to win me back.

Tablo is a network tuner and has an app. There are lots of off channels broadcasting too, that i didn't know about.

Cons

The verdict is in after about a year troubleshooting this waste of money. The wifi setup just stops at saving network credentials and then gives a vague, useless error message. The device is, and has always been, painfully slow.

Tablo has a good app, but it's not great for live tv. It's too slow to record two shows while processing a show for a commercial skip. I've been kicked out of the app on my roku in the middle of a show.

Pretty disappointing interface. They are very courteous. Many thanks to amazon for making returns of inferior products so easy.

Programs may only start/end on 15min increments from hourly.

You have to do a complete scan of all channels and if they don't come in good, then you have to reposition your antenna. My tv transmission towers are 24 miles away, not obstructed.

Also the price is right and i doubt i will sign up for the onscreen guide after 30 days as i mostly just use it for sunday games

I didn’t check phone or firestick apps as i don’t use them very often for watching shows

I got a winegard flatwave antennae and stuck it to my window then plugged it into a tv
