All in all i really happy with the synology nas and have a lot more features to explore in the coming months

Quality is very good but it is quite expensive compared to other similar products

With the drobo i didnt care much about which disk i was adding what size or in which order

Good quality product installed 4x6tb ironwolfs along with 4gb of extra ram plus 2x256gb of ssd works a treat

It is a bit dear and the packaging could really be sturdier for the price

This is a replacement for a smaller synology unit ive had for a number of years

Setup was easy transferring from an older synology nas was as simple as moving the disks over

Basically if you thought you needed a linux server you can probably do it out of the box with good tech support on a synology box

I had it configured with 2x 8tb hd so thats 8tb in mirror setup
