Cable is cheaply made and does not relay signal. But optical is based on light. Optical cord specifically mentions sound bars and equipment.

If you breathe on them too hard even, these connectors disconnect or at best, cause noise issues. The plug barely sits inside the plug. The audio ports aren’t that deep, therefore trying to get this thing to stay plugged in is a chore.
