At 1 amp i would not use this to try and charge a dead battery id get an 8 amp or at least 4 amp model this unit will take too long to recharge a dead battery

At 1 amp it wont charge fast but thats not what we need we need a trickle charge to keep the car battery alive when we leave for four months at a time

More importantly than the 1 amp this has an electronic floating meaning that it will stop charging when the battery is full

Without this feature some charges will continue to charge constantly even when the battery is full and this can shorten the life span of the battery

For large capacity battery charging understand this is only a 1amp charger so it’s better suited as a battery maintainer than something you would use to quick charge a low battery
