Pros & Cons
Pros
Overall this is a nice knife if you like collecting knives or are into these types of knives. been carrying this for quite a while now, still a great knife.
It is a very nice carbon steel blade that i've sharpened at 20 degrees and stropped to a great working edge. The drop point blade is just over an inch wide, with a lot of belly. The blade is thick enough for this type of knife and sharpens easily.
The stout, simple wooden handles are crude, but probably meant to be that way. The construction of the handle is adequate, with a friction lock that works surprisingly well if you tighten the pins correctly.
It takes a * fine edge, i'm no expert buy with the bottom of a mug or a honing steel i can get it hairpopping sharp, making it excellent for feather sticks and carving in general. Easy to sharpen and holds an edge fantastic.
Simple, solid construction. This is the first of this brand i have ever bought.
Cons
The svord peasant folding knife is sharp out of the sleeve, but the workmanship on the blade was unfinished at best. Terrible craftsmanship. Does not seem durable. Made in new zealand is not a selling feature for me going forward.

Excellent knife and despite what folks say about the bevels being uneven the knife cuts as well or better than knives five times the price

With the knife open the handle halves grip the tang which is also held in position by the users hand

This is a good low cost knife to use at base camp
But since the price is right its ok
Packaging/appearance
The packaging and finish create a first impression that suggests the peasant knife is not so much a knife as a concept however ... Read More
Not too many knives will shave my arm hairs right out of the box
Competitiveness
It is very lightweight while being a fullsize folder
Consif you are looking for a tacticool folder this isnt it
I purchased my old one for less than 20 around the price of a mora or an opinel
At twice the price it suffers in comparison to an opinel number 8 its rough equivalent but i like it and am glad i got it
