The rugged compass is in a cheap, rickety plastic box. The compass component is held in place by a thin, weak brass clip. Broke within five minutes of first use.

Just be careful not to lose the brass declination adjustment key it is loose in the package and not attached to the lanyard

Im not necessarily a fan of the fact that the only way to open it is to pull the lanyard because im afraid it may eventually snap with time
