I think they are deffinately child proof as even i sometimes struggle to get them open as you have to slide and pull

They are made of what feels like a very durable plastic and so i think if you get these they will last you untill your child is allowed access to your cupboards so there will be no need to repurchase or go out and buy something else

They work perfectly and keep my curious boy from opening any cabinets fridge or trash bin

She did notice that there is something new on the cabinet door and hence she cant open it anymore but she cant figure it out how to open this lock
