The connectors for the nine-volt battery are so flimsy you need to keep tightening then with pliers. As the battery voltage goes down, the voltage across the sensor decreases, which makes the displayed vacuum appear to also decrease.

I have to believe the manufacturer knows this is a troublesome gauge and has not interest in providing customer service for it
