It's so thick even without the filter that it's like wearing a comforter over your face.

It is made of a very nice light cotton material, a pocket for the changeable filters, and adjustable ear straps; the mask is sewn such that it fits naturally on the face, under the chin, and over the bridge of the nose (there is a mold-able metal strip).
