The lids are not stiff solid lids like say on a jar of pickles but more like a canning ring and lid

They are coated but in time i assume they will rust just like the canning rings do

I do not believe these are approved for canning with there is nothing on the box saying they are safe for canning

I think these are only for when you open something and dont use it all you can use these instead of keeping the two piece top on

I have not used these lids for any canning projects which require heat to seal the jars for safety so i cant tell how these would work for that type of use
