They stay clear and do not distort when turned up past where i normally listen. Installed in my 2020 gmc sierra. Fit right into 2015 nissan titan dash locations.

Make sure you put tape over the speaker cage and magnet to to not get metal shaving all over the place

I just desoldered them and then soldered them on to the new speakers
