Anything wooden over time seems to get a bit of a weathered look that’s not even being put into a dishwasher a few times

The other thing it’s ceramic so if you are used to drinking out of bone china mugs this might feel a bit thick on the lips compared to china mugs

Mine came with a slight blemish to the top just a tiny bump in the finish sandgrain size
