I have it mounted on my hydration pack in the picture which has pretty narrow straps but it still provides a reasonably stable image
However it mounts so securely and seems of sufficient quality that i may feel comfortable using my current phone which has a better camera after a bit more testing
Best if backpack has wide straps for firm attachment of mount with velcro straps
Also backpack should be modestly weighted to counterbalance camera on mount i carry camera bag and accessories in backpack
