Pros & Cons

Pros

This little * is fantastic. This is definitely next up on our stocking stuffer list. This product was received at a free or discounted price in exchange for my review.

It’s made from silicone and is weighted with a metallic skeleton. It's sturdy, heavy and seems non-slip. The bottom has an anti slide rubbery texture that is a plus.

Viewing angle is perfect and gets the device off the table surface just over 1/2. I watch netflix on my bed with my ipad docked in the stump horizontally. I read my kindle books on my ipad mini docked vertically in my stump.

This stand is as in his usefulness as it's simplicity. The ease of use it provides is exceptional.

The stump stand is a multi-purpose stand designed for mobile devices. It's ideal for using with the iphone or other smartphones. It also works well with the ipad air 2. I love having my phone at eye level and not having to crane my neck around.

Cons

This stand is not great. It's a little wobbly in the most upright position, very unstable in the lean position, and unusable in portrait orientation. Not for anything larger. I have a cheapo one that like much better.

I thought this would be ideal to use with my ipad pro 12

Unfortunately it overbalances with my large ipad in portrait mode and is not useable

I suspect it would do okay though

No moving parts no power source needed

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It’s heavy and won’t move in bed if you toss and turn

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It’s too heavy for traveling if you’re like me and go to the max travel weight limit

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Further unlike folding portable stands the stump stand has no movable parts meaning no potential of instability and sudden collapse

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Putting the ipad on the looser angle for portrait is not possible as the ipads weight will tip the stand
