I'm sure it will be as riveting as #1! Love the growth of all of the characters. Loved how the storyline is built.
Ginny dye continues to lay the story out from book to book, keeping each as good (ro better) than the preceding one. We all need to pray her health improves so she can continue to provide such pleasurable and page turning books.
Cons
Most of the book is carrie trying to figure out what she wants, which is endlessly frustrating for the reader. The characters are cardboard. The overseer is heartlessly cruel and violent. In my mind, carrie is probably sorry she asked.
There is absolutely no reason why it should take 17 books to cover the civil war years. There are historical people and places, but it is treated so one-sided that revisionist history fiction is a more adequate label. Definitely politically correct, p... Read More
The plantation owners selfishly preserve the status quo. Our heroine's so-called agonizing struggle over whether or not to support the institution of slavery is tedious in the extreme.
