Pros

Mac os x mountain lion - no issues with the driver - mac osx mountain lion. Rebooted, plugged in the ur22 and bam, done. It works great with os x yosemite. Using a macbook pro. It turns out that you do need to download the driver even for macos x.

You have to create an account and jump through some hoops to get it activated and registered. I use cubase as my daw, and that is my bread, butter, and jelly.

The ur22 is built rock solid, performs beyond my expectations. It has a sturdy metal case and smooth controls. The unit is compact, pc/mac usb-powered, and has a history of reliability. It feels pretty sturdy and is small enough to be portable.

For some decent sound on the cheap side, some m-audio av-40's (older) a set of hosa 1/4 trs cables is all you need to get decent sound from your computer. This audio interface is affordable with great sound and just enough inputs for my needs.

The pre-amp from yamaha is miles above other pre-amps i have used in home studio interfaces. I am a streamer and gamer and use xsplit (premium model) as my recording software for commentary (vocal) great for vocals but really need to monitor gain leve... Read More

The description on amazon is not accurate. Not exactly false advertising, maybe, but certainly not clear and forthcoming. No sound, or output except for pulsing bip sound. Subpar audio transmission.

So i researched a lot because i didnt want to buy a poor or average sound quality product

The preamps had a real sweet sounding quality to them but they are very sensitive

Price

I think anyone expecting more from a product at such a low cost is just being unrealistic

Packaging/appearance

The switches on the 2i2 are plastic and look pretty breakable and ive noticed other reviews mentioning those switches going bad

The preamps really need a pad like on the 2i4 they truly overloaded easily and often

Competitiveness

Very nice sounding preamps and a level of clarity that appears to surpass the competition

Clean uncolored sound and as an added bonus my monitors yamaha hs5s and a yamaha hs8 sub are significantly louder

I tried vox amplug for my bass and it worked okay but couldnt get a good amount of volume
