The focus and functionality for one's everyday life is without rival. It is profoundly helpful and very well-written. Rip is great at emphasizing important points in audio that you may gloss over in the text.
It takes a little bit to get used to racking the bar on your traps. It is a comprehensive guide to barbell training. It reinforces the most basic barbell exercises as the foundation of strength training.
Perfect book for a beginner. Well-written, informative and easy to understand. It's not enough to say this book is awesome.
Cons
The opening section on squatting is intolerably repetitive. There's so much filler around everything even once you get to the actual mechanics of the exercise.
