Sadly the catch on the hinged lid has now failed due it seems to a weakened spring on the trigger that operates the catch

There is now a tendency for the lid to fly open when pouring hot water so this now dangerous piece of kit is being consigned to the bin following advice from amazons very helpful customer service lady

No regret but it does make a lot of noise and it does not switch of immediatly after the water is boiling

Sadly this kettle only lasted me a month before i noticed a burning electrical smell coming from the base as it was boiling
