Pros & Cons

Pros

The construction seems sturdy. I am particularly impressed with the solid joining of the gooseneck to the vessel itself, and the thickness of thegoosenecks. Feels solidly built.

Looks classy. It turns a morning chore into a pleasant ritual. It's a conversational piece for everyone who walks into the kitchen.

The best feature is the thermometer. We live on a boat so great to not have a large stream of boiling water if a wave lurches the boat. Easy to get another temp besides boiling.

Cons

The bottom end of the handle is too close to the stovetop and is made of a plastic that melts extremely easily. The spout of the kettle is low and superheats over the stove eye. The kettle is small and struggles to stand on a gas burner.

The matte black coating is not, as you might anticipate, the result of a well bound, well-nigh indestructible finish.

For people unfamiliar with the kettle, this is dangerous. It's really kind of a gimmick. I’d recommend against the fellow kettle and am wary of other kettles that have a similar shape.

This product isn't ready and true coffee folks should stick to hario and bonavita for the time being. The smell and chemical abrasion on my lungs (and that of my entire family, incl. My husband) merits a strong do not buy recommendation.
