Pros

The compass works great, as long as you keep the knobs tightened to secure both the lead and the point. With some woodworking projects, a specific, odd radii or circle diameter is called for. The precision helps him with his geometry homework.

This staedtler is much nicer than those found at target. Amazon has it much cheaper than the brick and mortar stores local to me.

The staedtler compass is sturdy and well made. The metal and plastic parts are all solid and thick, giving this compass a nice heft. Sturdy quality and my orthographic drawings look very clean.



Cons

Can't get lead in so useless to me. Opened packaging and threw away so can't return. Screw that holds it in is in two tiny parts that can slip out of the compass easily if accidentally over-loosened.
