Personally i would say it’s not necessary the tri pod that comes with the laser is more than functional

Leg locks feel very stout and dont account for much of the height adjustment which is awesome

Would have bought the taller one but could not justify the price when comparing to a standard survey tripod

Update last week this tripod took a 4 fall onto concrete when it was in the closed position

I am sure part of this was a fluke but it helps to show that this tripod is well built and can take some punishment
