Pros & Cons
Pros
These suet cakes are a little softer than is useful during warm weather. Solidly boxed and individually wrapped.
Woodpeckers, chickadees, bushtits and all jays eat this suet. After years of only bird seeds for our feathered menagerie. Our four local woodpecker are back and happy.
I find if i put one berry and one nut, the birds are happiest. Something about the cherry in particular makes them almost insane.
Cons
Low quality soft greasy mess at 65 degrees. Had to discard it. It also turns white and mushy after it rains.
Only birds who go to this suet are the ones that lose the battle for perches on the seed feeders. As a result, it goes in the suet feeder bare, and easily crumbles.
