Pros & Cons

Pros

This knife is thin, and it's easy to carry chaparral clipped to a pocket. It cuts better then any other knife i have and is an awesome splinter getter.

The frn handles look great and offer great traction. The 50/50 finger choil makes for a sublime purchase on the grip. The jimping on the spine is not quite as aggressive as the choil.

The chapparral is an excellent edc slicer. The smooth epoxy is nice on the hand for an edc.

Spyderco knives are quality materials made in high level of craftsmanship. This is the nicest knife i've ever owned. It's a well designed and manufactured knife.

For many jobs it replaces scissors. It is much more convenient than scissors when on the go. It also sharpens easily. Hair splitting sharpness.

Cons

Spyderco chaparral is a total dud. The blade got scratched and eventually broke near the spyderhole. The dragonfly location is much better. Grey coating started spotting & literally coming off.

The ergonomics of openingclosing the blade on the bugout are better for sure but the chapparral is so much more comfortable in ...  Read More

Just sliiightly small for my hand but this is the sharpest blade i’ve ever owned right out of the box

Competitiveness

This was purchased as a designated box cutter based on the superhard cts xhp steel blade

If you’re a spyderco fan i own several this is one of their best and a must own

My next purchase will be a spyderco lol native

I had never fallen in love with a spyderco knife until the chapparral came along
