Pros

It sets the bevel quickly. I do the bulk of my sharpening with my belt grinder. When i'm traveling or don't feel like going to the shop, a coarse dmt is a must.

Spyderco has such high quality standards that there is nothing to worry about ordering any of their products. I believe these will last a lifetime. Well worth the purchase.

They are flat enough for everything i've tried including straight razors, and lapping according to some is not beneficial for the stone. Some are worse than others but these were acceptable; about the width of 20# copy paper out of flat.

However it takes a little time it will take the steel off smooth and slowly to comeup with the perfect angle that you desire
