I like the pockets in the waistband though i dont think i would actually use the phone pocket for a phone

It wont really lay flat unless youre built more or less like gumby and if you are doing anything particularly vigorous running for instance or insanity it seems like youd be constantly tugging at your pants to get them back where they belong

The pockets interfere with gps

When i go on my runs if i put my phone in the pocket the gps signal is poor and my mileage is not accurate
