Pros & Cons

Pros

blue tells the story of peter parker (spider-man) and gwen stacy. Peter isn't sure if she died due to the goblin, or due to his own webline that he used to try to save her. Gwen stacey would have married parker if it wasn't for her ending.

blue is a different kind of comic book story because it essentially inverts the importance of the plots. Expect many of spider- man's rogue gallery to appear coupled with an emotional ending.

This book is a good choice for any comic fan's bookshelf. Part of the loeb/sale marvel color books. If you liked the chemistry between garfield and stone in the marc webb spider-man films, this is the comic for you.

The artwork bursts with life, the story is fantastic, and i'm loving the tech. Great coloring and shading.

It takes everything that is great about spidey and synthesizes it down to absolute perfection. Just the right amount of action and villans. Pp at his best.

Cons

Jeph loeb brings his bafflingly successful approach to batman over to spider-man. The superhero fights are dull and meaningless, the soap opera is played out, beat for beat. The “mastermind” villain reveal is totally arbitrary and idiotic.

The quality of the paper is magazinestyle

However i connect much more deeply with the writing than the artwork in this series

His illustrations have a graphic frank miller or mike mignola type quality to it but having his own look entirely

Packaging/appearance

Was really bent when i first got it but besides that no complaints

Competitiveness

I flipped through the hardcover waffled back and forth on the price and finally decided to take a gamble
