Having a larger size also makes them super easy to get on and off and even if the chain is a bit loose the rubber is still tight and they won’t fall off

I wouid say the most important part is buying the correct size if you are between sizes i would go smaller

I was concerned with the spikes i thought they would bend easily when walked on but they didnt even budge
