On the dry erase board i could wipe with them dry but needed a damp paper towel to remove the chalky residue but it didnt leave any film or anything on either

You just have to press down on the tip for about a min to get the color to run down the tip before using

If the tips ever get worn you can remove them and turn them around to the other side

Do not use these on ruff or porous surfaces because it will ruin the tips very fast
