Cover comes off you can wash it in the washer and the gel pad can be wiped down the velcro is strong and durable never had a problem with it not sticking

Buyers be sure to put it into a plastic bag before you freeze it i use a larger bag than it came in hard to fit back into original bag if buying for knee problems id get the next larger size
