The tracks volume does increase when sounds interfere however it does not mask medium loud noise

Something the manufacturer should pay attention to in subsequent releases is the limitation pushing the adaptive sound button puts on maximum attainable volume which is not nearly loud enough to cover disturbing environmental noises

Com from the usa as it works out much cheaper although you would have to pay the postage to return the item to the usa if it was faulty
