They are a heavier weight then other insulated curtains i have tried in a light color so no light comes through

I think it does help with keeping outside noise down provided you have the window closed

If you have the window open and the curtains pulled shut you hear every once of noise outside

My house is cooler and easier on the eyes and my voice doesnt bounce off the wall nearly as much resulting in better quality
