    The cameras it protects are quite small and the little bit extra at the sides give me that something more to hold onto when i'm shooting.

    You can still easily flip up the back panel and have easy access to all buttons, the pop-up flash and evf on my camera model.

    I bought a sony dsc-h9vx from amazon, and the small metal tube through which the wrist strap is threaded actually frayed the wrist strap cord so badly that it broke while i had it on my wrist, and the camera fell to the ground.

    Sony would not stand by their warranty, and because of that; amazon replaced the camera at no charge.

    I knew it probably would not totally protect the camera if i dropped it; my goal was to keep it from dropping.

    The camera slides into the bottom part of the case through a channel on each side and securely attaches to the camera with a screw that fits into the camera tripod receptacle; that screw itself has an opening into which the tripod screws.
