Anyway, about the open box situation: i ended up buying a sony6400 after i returned this one and i noticed it was packaged the same way and kind of does look like it might have been opened before but this is not the case.

So people bottom line is just because it doesn't have a little piece of tape on it does not mean it is an open box.
