Note that with the 2015 firmware update for the sony fdrax100b this is not the best category of card if you plan to shoot 4k video

The new firmware raised the max write rate the camera can do to 100mbps which exceeds this cards uhs1 rating

It seemed to work in some limited testing but not want to risk choppy recordings i bought the transcend 256 gb high speed 10 uhs3 card

That included 40 minutes standing out on a glacier with the wind ripping through at about 20mph and the camera dangling outside of my coat spare battery tucked in my pocket just in case the battery in the camera died on me

The only time things slowed down was photographing bald eagles in flight so i just turned off the raw images and shot away

I then partitioned the drive into two 64 gb volumes with the partition map scheme guid partition table by using the partition function of the disk utility

I did run into a little trouble when i first plugged this card into one of the mac laptops but this problem was traced to dirty contacts on the connector and was easily corrected
