To properly use a magnifying lens one has to hold it steady that means that your hand has to be in contact with the desk so you dont jiggle

I have software books that show illustrations of screens with settings those settings are impossible to see without magnification

Mine works fine but only after adjusting the positive battery contact nearest to the lens jam a safety pin behind the contact to distort the dimple out more
