Pros & Cons
Pros
Buy it, read it, buy more and give them to your fiends. Another excellent storytelling by an excellent author.
The world building is so immersive. The politics of the infighting houses are remarkably complex and fluid. The worldbuilding is considerable, but could use some extra layering.
The book is amazing, the characters are awesome and you will probably love this book. A little slow to start but the ending rocks. Good surprise twist in the last battle. I look forward to the sequel.
Cons
I'm not sure what is lacking, but i had to work hard to get through the last half of the book. The plot is just hanging there, doing nothing. The story just stops when ashok gets thrown in jail.

Im not sure exactly what the difference is maybe the characters are a little less interesting or the story a bit flatter

Heres the real problem i have with this book and hear me out because this might sound really strange at first

But this book is a bit too leftwing for me
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Now im sure larry correia might raise his eyebrows at being called left wing but think about itbegin mild spoilerultimately in this book those in charge of a hierarchical social order are evil exploitative and oppressive for reasons
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
And it turns out that those on the bottom of the social hierarchy are actually the real good guys and those with power are moral for using that power to help those at the bottom of the social order
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Ultimately the book seems to be about overturning the established social order

Well thats basically leftism in a nutshell

Now i see theres two more books and i havent read them yet so hopefully larry correia has some surprises in store that subvert my expectations on this
